ASME LIVE TAKES NEW ORLEANS
It’s more than a conference. ASME Live offered its inaugural class in-depth training and built-in networking. The event was designed for engineers looking to build or maintain their skills in pressure vessels and piping, GD&T, and related specialties, all while connecting with peers and educators in the heart of New Orleans.

Welcome to ASME Live.
Are you ready?
Narrator: The very first ASME Live took off in New Orleans, La., bringing together engineers from across North America who were looking to build and maintain their skills with training courses like GD&T, pressure vessels and piping, and related specialties—live and in person, learning directly from experts in the field.
Attendees: As an engineer, you know, I wish I had machine shop, welding, things like that. Stuff that I work a little bit more closely with now.
CAD modeling in college. Yeah, I really wanted to learn modeling and I didn’t. And then I found out that I sorely needed it when I applied for jobs.
Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. That should have been a college course.
I teach an auditing course. So that’s kind of unique in what you’re not going to get in college anyways.
Narrator: Beyond the classroom, engineers had the chance to attend panels, connect with one another, join activity nights and happy hours, and possibly most memorably, discover the culture and cuisine New Orleans is famous for.
New Orleans highlight?
Attendees: Alligator po’boy.
The restaurant Mother’s.
Gallier’s.
Café du Monde.
Yesterday we went to a piano bar. That one was actually really cool. Blacksmith.
The Gumbo Shop. It was the best meal I’ve probably had in a very long time. Alligator sausage.
The chargrilled oysters from ACME. 10 out of 10.
Narrator: Come for the training, stay for the vibes, and make connections you’ll keep beyond the classroom. See you at the next ASME Live!
