Fission within Fusion
After decades of work to make practical fusion power a reality, there’s still no agreement on what a commercial fusion reactor would look like or how it would work. But reaching the long-sought goal of practical fusion power will require more than some billionaires writing checks.
Also: How optimized “vehicle-to-grid” charging could make renewable energy more profitable, a smart pen that can detect early signs of movement disorders, and microgears capable of operating inside micro-sized mechanical machines.
Coming in February and beyond
Advances in thermal energy storage, how AI is propelling the maritime industry forward, and a look at innovations that aim to make recycling a more worthy endeavor.
And don’t forget to nominate an engineer for the 2026 Watch List!
